I started STANDING EAGLE PSYCHOTHERAPY with the intention of creating an integrative approach to therapy.
What is an integrative approach you might ask?
Integrative therapy uses many different tools and skills to navigate life’s challenges. You might have heard of some common therapeutic modalities (which is just a fancy way of saying ‘ways to approach your goals) like:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT),
Internal Family Systems (IFS),
Attachment-theory, and
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.
These are some the approaches I take influence from and mix them together to help you reach your goals.
Integrative therapy also uses some modern and traditional practices.
Modern therapy focuses on developing skills and tools to help your manage daily life.
Traditional therapy focuses on building insight from the past.
Integrative therapy considers both the mind and the body and understanding the connection between the two through understanding and regulating our nervous system.
Why integrative therapy?
The simple answer - because everyone is so vastly different and what works for one person may have no influence on the other. For example, some people may experience a lot of value in doing a deep dive into their past, while others - not so much.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
You may or may not have seen/heard this term before. Trauma-informed simply means understanding the different ways trauma can affects a person day-to-day and how it may impact their healing journey. It is the capacity to understand that trauma is not simply one painful life-changing experience, but can be small moments all piled up that affects how your see the world in front of your today.
“Courage starts with showing up and letting yourself be seen.”

What does the Standing Eagle mean?
The Standing Eagle is a Filipino tribal pattern that embodies
Strength, Freedom, and Guidance.
I chose the Standing Eagle to represent this journey as my roots are within Filipino culture, I value the power of the eagle, and the words behind the symbol felt grounded within my work in therapy.
Because it takes your strength to step into the unknown that therapy might be. It takes strength to explore and name the pain points and unexpressed emotions. It takes strength to become curious to how you might shift to become more aligned and embody your authentic self.
Strength
For what therapy might bring to you. Freedom from the constraints of our own limiting beliefs. Freedom from the constraints of stuck points within our mind, body, and soul. Freedom to show up as you.
Freedom
Because of the nature of connection through the therapeutic relationship. I believe we are walking along this journey together, and I am like your guide - the voice we sometimes need to challenge our beliefs and fears. Sometimes we need a little guidance, and that is ok. My hope is to guide you along this journey to freedom by harnessing your strength.
